Something bad happened - Life Update
Hey good people !
Wow just wow. When did you last receive a notification from this newsletter? It's been ages right? I've not been able to reach out because something bad happened. Read on
About two Saturdays ago, thieves broke into my house in Abuja Nigeria and stole everything that's dear to me. It honestly seemed like a well-calculated and prior planned break in as everything happened in less than 45 minutes. In under 45 minutes everything that's dear to me and my work was gone. That's including gadgets, food, cookware and obviously leaving behind broken furniture, ceilings and doors for me to fix so that the house is close to livable again. To be honest, for all the years I lived in Abuja Nigeria i'd not heard of a break in especially in the areas I've stayed. This particular incident looked both scary and un believeable at the same time. Most of the time all of the people are always in dire out cry about the high costs of living in the country, the very high inflation levels, poor social services and obviously the negative effects of high populations (Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa with over 300 million people).
Aside from that, I'd not heard of scenarios of break ins into people's houses especially in most middle and low-income neighborhoods. Maybe it's because I was paying more attention to growing my online business and forgot to leave an ear on the ground, maybe I didn't have what thieves needed before and now that we had started to grow, I started to become a target for crime or maybe both. My point is that for the years that I have stayed here, all communities looked like they are close, everyone friendly to the other. Or is it fake love? The incident was scary because that very closeness made me think and believe that everyone was your friend. It's at least what I practiced when I came out of my house, greet everyone I met, smile with some and hold short lively conversations with others etc. It made me think that a friend cannot and should not hurt another friend. I was utterly wrong.
Anyway that's why I've taken ages without reaching out. It's still hard to reach out even now as every gadget that I was using was a little bit costly. Because not any phone, computer, Wi-Fi etc can seamlessly do his online thing. Some of you who were my buddies on WhatsApp too remember the kind of gadgets i used to share on there .Every gadget that you purchase on this job should be the best in its category. Not any phone can give you a seamless video view experience , not any computer can seamlessly edit a video etc .Long story short, I've not yet replaced any of the gadgets to get my work up and running at the level it was 2 or so weeks ago as I've already noted each of them is pricey
So what am I doing about it? Just sitting and lamenting?
No . A bold NO. I usually have a motivational quote that says “if you can't do your best, do the minimum you can in that very moment” The minimum I'm doing is at least typing out this newsletter and finding every possible way to send it out . Obviously, I'm also gathering funds here and there to have at least one or two gadgets replaced so I can again keep doing the minimum I can in that very moment and keep striving for bigger and more.
I jokingly told my neighbours that it's me who teaches people how to make money online from zero. So if I can't get out of this then I have no moral authority to teach others how to do it. I'm going to get out of it in weeks in fact.
